Effect of Spacing and Biofertilizers on Growth and Yield of Chickpea

The field experiment was conducted during rabi 2022-23, at Crop Research Farm, Department of Agronomy, SHUATS, Prayagraj (U.P). soil the experimental plot sandy loam in texture, nearly neutral reaction (pH 6.9), low organic carbon (0.32%), available N (283.93 kg/ha), P (18.3 kg/ha) and K (223.5 kg/ha). laid out Randomized Block Design with ten treatments viz. T1: Spacing 20 cm x 15 + Uninoculated, T2: Rhizobium, T3: PSB, T4: 30 10 T5: T6: cmx T7: 40 T8: T9: PSB T10: Control: 100% RDF each replicated thrice. results obtained that application Rhizobium (20 g/kg seeds) along 30cmx10cm significantly increased growth parameters plant height (46.79 cm), number nodules (31.93/plant), dry weight (22.11 g/plant) yield pods per (36.80), seed index (22.15 g), (3.44 t/ha) stover (4.28 t/ha). This treatment also showed its positive effect on economics gross returns (1,71,834 INR/ha), net (1,24,486 B:C (2.63). As majority Indian farmers are marginal poor who cannot afford use high cost fertilizers result crops exposed to nutritional constraints. In such conditions biofertilizers can play an important role contributing towards health crop productivity.
